By downloading, installing, or using ShowNotes, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the software. These terms are between you and Segment8 Ltd (“we,” “us”).
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ShowNotes on any Mac computers you personally own or control. One purchase covers one person, unlimited personal machines.
You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or decompile the software. You may not share your license key with others.
Free trial
ShowNotes includes a 14-day free trial. During the trial, the software is fully functional. After the trial expires, you must purchase a license to continue using it.
Payments and refunds
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited as our merchant of record. Paddle handles payment processing, VAT collection, receipts, and refunds. Paddle’s terms apply to your purchase: paddle.com/legal/terms.
If you’re not satisfied, contact [email protected] within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. No questions asked.
What ShowNotes does
ShowNotes creates a floating window that is excluded from screen capture on macOS using documented Apple APIs. This works with most screen-sharing tools. We do not guarantee compatibility with every tool or every macOS version — see our compatibility guide for current status.
What ShowNotes does not do
ShowNotes does not defeat hardware capture (HDMI, phone cameras), does not hide your screen from people physically present, and does not bypass any security or access controls. It is a professional preparation tool, not a stealth tool. We do not support or condone using it to deceive interviewers, examiners, or anyone you owe a fair encounter to.
Your content
You own everything you write in ShowNotes. We have no access to your decks, cards, or notes. Your content is stored locally on your Mac and never transmitted to us or any third party.
Updates
We may release updates to ShowNotes. Updates are optional unless a security issue requires them. We do not guarantee ongoing development, new features, or indefinite support — but we intend to maintain the software for the foreseeable future.
Warranty disclaimer
ShowNotes is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every system configuration. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Segment8 Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ShowNotes. Our total liability for any claim related to the software is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll update the date at the top. Continued use of ShowNotes after changes constitutes acceptance.
